Abstract
For word synchronization of a run length-limited (1.7)-code with a code rate of 2/3 a synchronization sequence is inserted in the bit-serial sequence of three bit-wide code words, which synchronization sequence includes at least three consecutive three-bit wide code words and has at least six zeros ('0') between two ones ('1').
