Abstract
A copolymer, adaptable to use as a bead-like carrier material for affinity chromatography, of a hydrophilic allyl monomer of the formula CH.sub.2 .dbd.CH--CH.sub.2 --O--R--X.sub.n, wherein n is 0 and R is hydrogen, or n is a whole number from 1 to 5 and R is an (n+1)-valent aliphatic hydrocarbon group, and X is the same or different hydrophilic hydroxylic group, which copolymer is crosslinked by units of a polyfunctional comonomer in which at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups are linked by a chain containing a carbonamide or ether group.
