Abstract
An ethylene polymerization catalyst system is provided. This catalyst system is produced by the process comprising forming an activated and reduced composition that is substantially free of titania and that comprises a fluorine compound, a chromium compound, and a catalyst support that consists essentially of silica. An ethylene polymerization process is provided. This process uses the ethylene polymerization catalyst system above. This catalyst system is contacted with ethylene, in the presence of hydrogen and trialkylaluminum, under polymerization conditions, to produce a polyethylene resin.
