Abstract
A dye-receiving element for thermal dye transfer comprising a polymeric dye image-receiving section having a surface which has been roughened to provide an average surface roughness Ra of from about 0.03 to about 0.5 .mu.m as determined by ANSI D-46.1 (1985). The roughened image-receiving surface does not exhibit as much image smear as non-roughened surfaces which are subjected to fusing after imaging.
