Abstract

A facsimile apparatus (1) is provided with a function of making a facsimile communication through a telephone line (2). The facsimile apparatus includes: a memory device (8) for storing information to indicate a condition related to the facsimile communication; a voice data storing device (15) for storing predetermined various kinds of voice data; a speech signal synthesizing device (16) for synthesizing a speech signal on a basis of the stored information and the stored voice data; and a transmitting device (3) for transmitting the synthesized speech signal onto the telephone line (FIG. 1).
