Abstract

The present invention provides a salt forming-type dye represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein Ka.sup.+ is a C.sub.6-20 amine cation or a basic dye cation, and n is an integer of 1 to 4, which indicates the number of Ka.sup.+. The salt-forming dye can be used in an ink composition.
