Abstract

A radio communication apparatus for transmitting and receiving a digital signal using a radio line which includes a memory means for storing a plurality of signal procedures in which each procedure has different ratio of the information code bits and error correction code bits. A signal processing circuit executes one of the procedures stored in the memory means according to line quality. Accordingly, the radio communication apparatus of the present invention selects the optimum procedure according to the line quality, and then reduces the consumed power.
