Abstract

There is disclosed an efficient process for producing .alpha.-ketoacetamide of the formula: ##STR1## which is useful as an intermediate for the production of various alkoxyiminoacetamide compounds to be used for agricultural fungicides. In this process, a corresponding acid halide is condensed with isocyanide to produced the .alpha.-ketoacetamide.
