Abstract

A macronomer of Formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or methyl, X is a biradical, R.sub.2 is an alkyl group of 1-40 carbon atoms and n is such that the molecular weight of the macromonomer ranges from 500-100,000 Dalton is prepared by transesterifying a monomeric ester of Formula II ##STR2## where R.sub.3 represents an alkyl group with 1-8 C atoms, with a hydroxyl-group-terminated polyalkyl methacrylate of Formula III ##STR3## where X and R.sub.2 have the same meanings as above, and
