Abstract

A fluid compressor includes a cylinder, a rotating member eccentrically arranged in the cylinder, the rotating member having a spiral groove formed in an outer surface thereof at a gradually decreasing pitch, a spiral blade having a suction-side end portion and a delivery-side end portion and fitted in the groove to be retractable, a plurality of operating chambers formed in the cylinder, partitioned by the blade, and gradually decreasing in volume, and allowing a target fluid to be supplied thereinto, an Oldham mechanism for coupling the cylinder and the rotating memory to each other and rotating the cylinder and the rotating member relative to each other, the Oldham mechanism having a rotating member Oldham portion arranged on the rotating member and having parallel slide contact surfaces, a lubricant supplied into the cylinder and urged against an inner surface of the cylinder upon rotation of the cylinder, and a lubricant retainer arranged in the cylinder and having a delivery hole for guiding the fluid, supplied into the cylinder, outside the cylinder, the lubricant retainer protruding into the cylinder to regulate a thickness of the lubricant, wherein a protrusion size h of the lubricant retainer into the cylinder is set to satisfy
