Abstract

A method for repairing the surface of a coating involves the step of rubbing a compound having a Vickers hardness of above Hv 2,000 g/mm.sup.2 on the surface of the coating with a buff at a uniform surface pressure ranging from 2 to 20 g/cm.sup.2. This method permits the repair of scratched or scraped coating surfaces to produce coating surfaces of high quality without causing fade on the surfaces.
