Abstract
A method of making a hot-melt silicone pressure sensitive adhesive-coated substrate comprises (a) heating a hot-melt silicone pressure sensitive adhesive composition which includes a mixture of (i) a silicone resin, (ii) a silicone fluid, and (iii) from about 0.5 to about 10 weight percent, based on the total weight of the silicone resin and the silicone fluid, of a non-flammable hydrocarbon having a weight-average molecular weight of from about 300 to about 1500 as measured by gel permeation chromatography calibrated with narrow distribution polydimethylsiloxane standards (b) coating the heated adhesive composition onto a substrate, and (c) cooling the coated adhesive composition until it is in a generally non-flowing state.
