Abstract

A thermosensitive recording material capable of recording thereon colored images having high resistances to oily substances, plasticizers, moisture, and heat and an excellent storage persistency over a long time, comprises a thermosensitive colored image-forming layer formed on a sheet substrate and comprising a colorless dye precursor, a color developing agent, and a binder, the color developing agent comprising at least one compound of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X is an O or S atom, R.sup.1 is an unsaturated aromatic group or a substituted phenyl group having a lower alkyl or halogen atom and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are respectively a hydrogen atom, alkyl, aralkyl, substituted alkyl having an aryloxy, unsubstituted aromatic group, or substituted aromatic group having at least one substituent selected from alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkyloxy, alkyloxycarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl, aralkyloxycarbonyl, and arylsulfonyl groups, and halogen atoms.
