Polyadducts of an alkylene oxide and styrene oxide with an aryl alcohol, especially polyadducts of formulae ##STR1## wherein the ring A is an unsubstituted phenyl radical or a phenyl radical which is substituted by halogen, methyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy,
