Abstract
A photoconverter formed as a sintered coating on a glass tube substrate, the coating being of a sol with a matrix compound capable of forming a sol-gel film. The sol-gel film contains a matrix substance component permeable to visible light and an acid chloride containing luminous atoms. The sol-gel film is reduced by calcination and sintered to form the photoconverter. The photoconverter is easy to use and is capable of executing photoconversion with a high energy efficiency.
