Abstract

A polyamide composition which comprises a thermoplastic polyamide red phosphorus and an olefin copolymer. The olefin copolymer is ungrafted and is a copolymer with units from ethylene and an unsaturated ester of a saturated C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 carboxylic acid. The composition can also include a magnesium compound such as magnesium hydroxide or carbonate, and also reinforcing fibers or fillers such as glass fibers.
