Abstract
An ignition distributor wherein at least either one of the discharge element of a stationary electrode and the discharge element of a rotary electrode are composed of a sintered body comprising at least a ferrite and silicon oxide and have a surface precipitate layer having a thickness of from 1 to 7 .mu.m and a silicon oxide content larger than that of a core portion of the sintered body and the discharge element has an electric resistivity of from 10.sup.4 to 10.sup.6 .OMEGA. in a portion from a site at which said voltage is applied to the discharge element to a site at which an electric discharge occurs.
