Abstract

Disclosed is a two-step method for the preparation of cyclic urea products which comprises: heating a diamine with urea in a mole ratio of about 1 at a temperature from about 120.degree. C. to 140.degree. C. until a mole of ammonia is liberated and slowly heating the intermediate with an alcohol or polyether solvent to a temperature from about 160.degree. C. to 200.degree. C. to produce the cyclic urea products.
