A method of recovering polychlorinated biphenyls by mixing and reacting a soluble polymer with polychlorinated biphenyls in non-aqueous solvent to form a precipitate reaction complex of the polymer and biphenyl, and separating the precipitate from the solvent, said polymer having the formula: ##STR1##
