Abstract
The improved silver halide photographic material is provided which contains a compound of the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group or a heterocyclic group; Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2 each represents a non-metallic atomic group necessary for forming a 5- to 7-membered ring; X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 each represents an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or .dbd.N-R.sub.3 ; R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group, a heterocyclic group or --OR.sub.4 ; R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group or a heterocyclic group; L.sub.1 to L.sub.5 each represents a methine group; and n.sub.1 and n.sub.2 each represents an integer of 0, 1 or 2.
