Abstract
New compounds (3-alkyl-5-hydroxy-3,4-dihydrofuran-2-ones) of the following general structure: ##STR1## wherein R is an alkyl group or a phenylalkyl group with the alkyl moiety containing at least 6 carbon atoms, are disclosed as useful in inhibiting phospholipase A.sub.2.
