Abstract

A method for constructing shelving includes the step of providing first and second shelf brackets. Each of the shelf brackets comprises a rectangular vertically extending main surface having a plurality of equally spaced first legs extending vertically from a first end of the main surface, the first legs have a rectangular shape and a length approximately equal to a standard board thickness, and a first horizontally extending arm is located between adjacent first legs. A plurality of equally spaced second arms extend horizontally from a second end of the main surface in the same direction as the first arms; the second arms are adapted to support one of two opposing end edges of a standard board thereon. A second vertically extending leg is located between adjacent second arms, the second leg extending in a direction opposite from that of the first legs; the second leg has a shape and length similar to that of the first leg. The first and second shelf brackets are placed against opposing walls, and opposing end edges of the standard board are placed on opposing second arms of the shelf brackets.
