Abstract

A procedure is described for the preparation of compounds having a bicyclo[3.2.0]heptenonic structure corresponding to the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, the same or different are hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl. The compounds corresponding to formula (I) can be used as intermediates or precursors of pheromones, prostaglandins and antibiotics.
