Abstract
A process for the preparation of polyisobutene from isobutene and/or hydrocarbons containing isobutene in the presence of a complex of BF.sub.3 and an alcohol, wherein the free BF.sub.3 is substantially removed from the complex solution and/or from the reaction chamber.
