Abstract
A phase-locked loop circuit for monitoring electrical signals adapted for use in telephone communication systems. Clock signals synthesized by a first phase-locked loop circuit are monitored by a second phase-locked loop circuit. The second phase-locked loop circuit additionally provides clock signal synthesis redudancy and and monitors the functional status of the first, signal synthesizing phase-locked loop circuit.
