Abstract
A magnetic recording medium which comprises a nonmagnetic support having provided thereon a magnetic layer comprising ferromagnetic metal powder dispersed in a binder, wherein the binder contains a polyurethane resin having a ##STR1## group introduced therein, wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or a straight or branched alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal or NH.sub.4.sup..sym.. The magnetic recording medium has excellent electromagnetic converting characteristics and running durability.
