Abstract

A material for use in containers for explosive media and a material for use n containers for absorbing the dynamic shock of an explosion and prevent sympathetic detonation of adjacent explosive device in which the material is a relatively lightweight, porous, shock absorbing material mixed with a binder to provide a castable composite. A storage container receives the cast filler and is thereby hindered from being subjected to destruction from sympathetic detonation due to donor detonation within the storage container or a proximate storage container.
