Abstract
Various 2D and 3D diamond shaped filters for encoding and decoding NTSC, and ATV signals are presented. The particularity of the proposed system is its separability: the desired filter configurations are composed of multiple simple 1D filters operating individually in their own zero or oblique frequency axis. In comparison with existing diamond shaped filters the proposed systems offer substantial advantages, low complexity and better performance along the zero axes (horizontal, vertical and temporal) in the frequency domain.
