Abstract

A method of manufacturing polysuccinimides with molecular weights in the range 100,000 to about 200,000 by polycondensation of aspartic acid, with phosphoric acids as condensation agents, in at least two process stages, at temperatures of 100.degree.-250.degree. C. and under reduced pressure, where in the second stage the mixture containing aspartic acid and phosphoric acid undergoes subsequent condensation following comminution.
