2-Substituted phenyl-2-oxazoline derivatives or 2-substituted phenyl-2-thiazoline derivatives represented by the general formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a nitro group, a lower haloalkyl group or a lower haloalkoxy group, with a proviso that R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 do not simultaneously represent hydrogen atoms;
