Abstract
A device for cutting and/or slitting travelling webs or sheet-like board material includes a pair of coacting rotary circular knives mounted on each side of the path of the web with the two peripheral cutting edges being in contact with one another. The device includes the use of a flat spring to provide an arrangement for biasing one knife against the other knife in the axial direction to provide the desired elastic pretension therebetween.
