Abstract

The defibrillator pad of the present invention comprises a lower layer of electrically conductive tacky polymer and an upper layer of filamentous carbon fabric containing carbon fibers coated with an electrically conductive polymer. The pad is placed on the patient's chest with the polymer layer facing downwardly in contact with the patient's chest and with the carbon layer facing upwardly for engagement with the electrodes of the defibrillator paddles.
