Abstract

The present invention provides a medicament for treating thrombocytopenia comprising as an active component at least one polypeptide selected from IL-1 and derivative thereof and a IL-1.alpha. derivative having an amino acid sequence of the formula (.alpha.) which is so modified as to fulfill at least one of the requirements of: deletion of the 16-position Arg; replacement of the 16-position Arg by another amino acid residue; deletion of the sequence of the 1-position Ser to the 14-position Phe and deletion of the amino acid sequence of the 1-position Ser to the 15-position Met.
