Abstract

A new antibiotic, aranorosin, a microbiological process for the preparation thereof, and the use thereof as a pharmaceutical. Aranorosin, a compound of the formula ##STR1## can be prepared with the aid of the fungus culture Y-30499 (DSM 4151). Aranorosin has an antibiotic action as well as an action against malignant tumors.
