Abstract

Ternary CaO-TiO.sub.2 -SiO.sub.2 compositions are discussed. These compositions are useful as sintering aids for silicon nitride sintering. Use of these ternary compositions allows silicon nitride to be effectively sintered at lower temperatures than when conventional yttria sintering aids are used.
