Abstract

A process for converting heavy hydrocarbons into lighter hydrocarbons. The process comprises forming an oil-in-aqueous phase emulsion and feeding the formed emulsion into an ultrasonic reactor wherein heavy hydrocarbons are converted into lighter hydrocarbons.
