Abstract

Thiadiazabicyclononane derivatives of the formula I ##STR1## (R.sup.1 =H, F; R.sup.2 =halogen; R.sup.3 =H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl; R.sup.4 =H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkoxycarbonyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 -alkenyloxycarbonyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 -alkynyloxycarbonyl, and these 3 groups may additionally bear C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy; X, Y, Z=O,= S; a=C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 -alkylene chain which in addition to R.sup.4 may bear up to 3 identical or different radicals R.sup.5 : OH, COOH, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxycarbonyl, and the last two radicals may in turn bear up to 5 halogen atoms or one of the following substituents; OH, CN, SH, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkylthio, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 -alkenyloxy, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 -alkenylthio, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 -alkynyloxy, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 -alkynylthio, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkylcarbonyloxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxycarbonyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxycarbonyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxycarbonyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylthio). These thiadiazabicyclononane derivatives are suitable for use as herbicides.
