Abstract

An austenitic, non-magnetic, stainless steel alloy and articles made therefrom are disclosed which, in the wrought condition, are essentially ferrite-free and have a relative magnetic permeability of less than about 1.02, a room temperature 0.2% yield strength of at least about 100 ksi, and good resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride environments.
