Abstract

A coated product comprising a water soluble core material having a water insoluble polymeric coating encapsulating said core and a process for the production thereof. The encapsulating coating comprising a water-borne, polyvinylidene chloride-based latex composition which provides for the release of the water soluble core material over an extended period of time.
