Abstract

A process for the preparation of 2,4,6-tricyano-1,3,5-triazine, comprising reacting a 2,4,6-trihalogeno-1,3,5-triazine of the formula ##STR1## in which Hal.sub.1 and Hal.sub.2 independently of one another represent chlorine or fluorine, with an alkali metal cyanide or an alkaline earth metal cyanide.
