Abstract

This invention provides 3-quinuclidinyl benzamides which in the form of pharmaceutical compositions have utility as therapeutic agents which exhibit anxiolytic antipsychotic and cognitive improving effects in warm blooded animals. Illustrative of an invention compound is N-(1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-yl)-5-chloro-4-dimethylamino-2-hydroxythiobenz amide: ##STR1## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
