Abstract

A vaccine for equine herpesvirus which includes the equine rhinopneumonitis virus (equine herpesvirus) type 4 (EHV-4) in an inactivated or modified live virus form. Also disclosed is a combined vaccine based on the equine abortion virus (e.g. herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1)) and equine rhinopneumonitis virus (equine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1)) and equine rhinopneumonitis virus (equine herpesvirus type 4 (EHV-4)) in an inactivated or modified live virus form. The viruses are present in a suitable adjuvant with a suitable preservative.
