Abstract
The present invention provides a developer for making a lithographic printing plate by silver complex diffusion transfer process which contains a hydroxyaryl fatty acid. This hydroxyaryl fatty acid preferably has the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a straight chain alkyl group of 1-19 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 represents a straight chain alkylene group of 1-19 carbon atoms with a proviso that sum of carbon atoms of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 is 10-20 and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group or an alkyl or alkoxy group of 1-9 carbon atoms.
