Abstract

A novel process for preparing a naphthalene derivative of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 are a lower alkyl group, and an intermediate thereof is disclosed. Said naphthalene derivative (I) and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof are useful as a hypolipidemic agent.
