Abstract

A disk cartridge having a disk cartridge-body in which a disk-shaped record medium is rotatably accommodated and an information signal can be recorded on the disk-shaped record medium, the disk cartridge-body having an opening portion to exchange therethrough the disk-shaped record medium, an openable and closable member for opening and closing the opening portion through which the disk-shaped record medium is exchanged and a write-protecting mechanism formed on the openable and closable member to determine whether or not an information signal can be recorded in the disk-shaped record medium.
