Abstract

Polyhydantoins useful in coating materials, films, adhesives and moldings are prepared by reacting polyfunctional .alpha.-aminocarboxylic acids, organic polyiso(thio)cyanates and carboxylic acid compounds in the presence of a condensed aromatic hydrocarbon at a temperature of 0.degree. to 500.degree. C.
