Abstract
Aromatic polycarbonates having weight average molecular weight M.sub.w of at least 10,000 which contain bifunctional carbonate structural units corresponding to general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 independently represent hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 hdyrocarbon or halogen radicals; and
