Abstract
The present invention is directed to the preparation of glass-ceramic articles exhibiting an apparent annealing point of at least 1200.degree. C. and containing slawsonite crystallization consisting essentially, in weight percent, of 10-54% SrO, 10-40% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, 36-55% SiO.sub.2, and up to 25% total of at least one alkaline earth metal oxide in the indicated proportion of 0-10% MgO, 0-15% CaO, and 0-20% BaO.
