Abstract

A polypetide vaccine is disclosed with the amino acid sequence of Asp-Pro-Arg-Val-Arg-Gly-Leu-Try-Phe-Pro-Ala-Gly-Gly-Ser-Ser-Ser-Gly-Thr-Va l that bears the receptor for polymerized human serum albumin capable of raising antibodies to inhibit the access and entry of hepatitis B virus (HBV) to hepatocytes. The polypeptide vaccine is also shown in which the 9th amino acid residue (Phe) is replaced by leucine. In addition, there is disclosed hepatitis B polypeptide vaccine P31 which is capable of raising antibodies to block the attachment of HBV to hepatocytes.
