Abstract

An alcohol-based composition inhibited against high temperature aluminum cavitation erosion corrosion characterized by the presence of a polysilyl compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a substituted or unsubstituted organic radical; R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, monovalent hydrocarbon radicals and substituted monovalent hydrocarbon radicals; R.sup.2 is a monovalent moiety hydrolyzable to a hydroxyl group, each R.sup.2 being the same or different; a is an integer from 2 to 4, inclusive; b is an integer having a value of 0 or 1; n is an integer from 1 to 36, inclusive; and c is an integer having a value of 0 or 1; each ##STR2## group being the same or different, with the provision that the compound have at least one ##STR3## group.
